Get a coach

You can find a coach by looking at retired drill team members who are willing to work as coaches. You are going to need experts in the field to coach and give you advices before joining the drill team.

Practice drill moves

You can make your own choreography for creativity but do not make it too much. Just keep it simple and within the boundaries of the rules and regulations.

Study related drill moves

You can enhance your experiences by doing different dance moves which are related to drill moves. Judges can be impressed when you have a diverse experience in different dance moves.

Start with the local drill team

You can start with the drill team in your school or city and then work on your way into making it for regional drill teams. This way you can appreciate your success by working hard on making your way to the higher rank of drill teams.

Sign up for drill teams

Usually, there are drill teams for schools and colleges or universities. You can look for the adviser of the drill team of your school and talk to him about your wanting to join the team.

Try out to make it to the team

Some drill teams will have you try out for the team before you can join the team officially. Because you have prepared physically, mentally and emotionally for this, you can now confidently try-out for any team you want to join.

If the first team that you try out for does not admit you, you can always try out for other teams. Do not lose hope because there are too many drill teams in one area. Just keep on working out and preparing yourself physically, mentally and emotionally until the team that you want to join finally admits you.
